Louisiana Girls State is available for high school female students who are entering their Senior year. They must have completed their Junior year of high school in the Spring prior to Girls State.

Delegates can begin to register for Louisiana Girls State on February 1, 2026.

Louisiana Girls State is specifically for students who attend high schools located in Louisiana. If you are homeschooled, you must have a Louisiana address.

Louisiana Girls State is specifically for female high school students entering their Senior year. We encourage you to apply for the program when you are entering your senior year.

Yes. Program Staff will host two virtual program orientations once registration closes. Details on program orientation will be emailed out to the registered delegates.

We encourage you to contact your school guidance office for information regarding selection and attendance as we frequently communicate with those offices throughout the year. You can also apply to register via our application found on the “Delegates” page. If selected, we will provide the appropriate information and contacts to apply to attend.

We will be emailing the primary contact along with their parent/legal guardians every week leading up to the program. Communication to all registered delegates will begin on or around mid-March. Please be sure to allow messages from LAGirlsState@gmail.com. To ensure communications are received, please do NOT register with a school email as our communications are often blocked to those addresses. If you feel you are missing emails from us, please email us to ensure you registered with the correct email address.

We encourage all parents, friends and family to follow their delegate’s experiences on our social media pages @lagirlsstate. We will post live feeds, images, and videos throughout the week. For specific information on your Delegate that you need, please reach out to LAGirlsState@gmail.com.

We encourage all family, parents and friends to attend the Closing Ceremony on Saturday. Details can be found in the delegate packet. All other events are private and no outside visitors are permitted on campus.

Pick up is on Saturday at 1:00 PM from the dorms.
